Do you charge per user, extension, or phone?
Our pricing is simple. We offer easy to understand flat rate billing, you can choose the design that works best for you. Our Hosted PBX packages are a flat rate per extension with unlimited calling. Our SIP Only plans offer an unlimited number of extensions with flat rate per minute billing (1.3 to anywhere in the US and Canada). [top]
Are there any contracts to sign or long-term commitments you’re not telling me about?
You can cancel at any time, without ever having to worry about penalties. If you cancel your service during the first 12 months you will need to return your equipment, but that’s it. [top]
Can I make international calls?
Absolutely. Our standard calling area includes the US 48 states and Canada, which can be called using your included minutes. Most other international destinations can be found in our extended calling area. These rates vary depending on the destination. [top]
I need a new phone number. What can you do for me?
We have phone numbers available for our customers in almost every region of the United States. When you create your account you’ll be able to pick the perfect number from anywhere in the country. We also offer vanity numbers like 212-GET-VOIP. [top]
I already have a phone number but I want to use Layer Four. What can I do?
Local Number Portability, or LNP for short, allows you to keep your existing phone number and ‘port’ it to Layer Four. Most numbers can be ported, and we’ll be happy to assist you in any way we can during the process. Do note that it can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to port a number. Both toll and toll-free numbers are also eligible. Please contact us to confirm that your number can be ported. [top]
How Do I See Coverage in My Area?

How many simultaneous calls will my Layer Four phone number support?
All of the phone numbers you get from us (both toll and toll-free) support up to 25 simultaneous calls. You’ll find that this is in stark contrast to competing services that advertise “unlimited inbound calling” but restrict their numbers to just a single call at a time. What type of payments do you accept?

What Features does Layer Four Hosted PBX Have?
Unlike other virtual PBX systems, we don’t nickel and dime you over every feature. We have all of the standard features you would expect from a business class phone system, voicemail, music on hold, call transfer, auto attendant, call parking, intercom and caller ID plus many features that other companies charge a premium for. What is the difference between SIP Trunking and Hosted PBX?
SIP Trunking a way to connect your existing PBX or Asterisk server to our VoIP system without using our PBX features. So if you don’t want to use our PBX, but still want to take advantage of our low nationwide and international calling rates, SIP trunking is a great way to go. [top]
What type of phones can I use?
You can use any type of SIP phone you like, We support most phones from Cisco, Polycom, Aastra, Snom, and Grandstream, but you are free to use any phone you want. We supply Cisco equipment on our plans that include free phones.[top]
What is dedicated bandwidth?
Dedicated bandwidth is a unique feature of Layer Four Hosted PBX. We can supply you with a private connection for your voice traffic so that all of your VoIP traffic stays on our private network and never travels over the Internet. This allows us to provide you with rock solid, secure service with SLAs and reliability not found anywhere else.[top]
Can I get a toll-free number?
Yes, We have toll-free numbers available. You can choose between US, Canada, or both. We have all toll-free prefixes available as well as Vanity numbers by request.[top]
